Image: Akin IT ServicesAkin IT Services was formed in the summer of 2006 by owner Chris Akin in an effort to create a business that worked more directly for and with small to mid sized businesses.  A 15 year IT professional, Chris Akin had a long history of working for, and with, businesses of all shapes and sizes.  With that, he learned a lot of valuable lessons in the world of information technology, including:

  1. As a standard, IT contractors tend to come into an opportunity and push their way of doing things instead of the customer's methods.
  2. Contractors tend to spend a lot of time "on the clock" while doing very little...offering their services up as "expertise".
  3. You could always always tell a small business from a larger one just from the look of their website, as highly professional websites tended to come at a premium cost that a small business simply couldn't handle.
  4. IT support lacked a courtesy that it should have, as analysts spent more time being annoyed than appreciating the fact that their job depended on people NOT knowing how to fix things with their computer.
  5. Consultants regularly were brought in to offer ideas to a project, but were rarely given any credence because most were simply "yes" men trying to get a paycheck.

With that in mind, Akin IT Services was formed in an effort to introduce a better way of doing things.  Chris Akin, who had significant background in both Information Technology and Customer Service, charted out a new way of doing business with small businesses.  It became his goal to not only work with "the little guy", but to ensure that they were treated like the biggest companies in the world through delivery of highly professional services for a small business budget.  Starting in Northeastern Ohio, Akin IT Services thrived because of this philosophy, and quickly started growing.  While primarily developing websites for customers, the focus grew and expanded over and over again. 

In 2009, Akin IT Services found that it needed to have a more focused division in it's Contact Relationship Management arena.  ATA CRM Solutions was then formed as a new division of Akin IT Services.

In 2010, Akin IT Services realized realized the importance of providing backlinks for any company's SEO campaign, so a new division called Nirado was formed and launched.

Also in 2010, the realization that many of Akin IT Services customers had been mistreated in the credit card processing arena when building and launching their online web stores, so Akin IT Services partnered with the Integral Merchants Group to provide this service.

In 2011, Akin IT Services expanded to the San Francisco, California area with two new divisions - a field office for Akin IT Services technical offerings, and a new credit card processing company for the California area called Akin Merchants.

At current, Akin IT Services and it's subsidiaries represent businesses in Ohio, California, Florida, Alabama, Illinois, Indiana North Carolina and Wisconsin.  We look forward to representing your business as well.
